I'm sorry, I'm going to say it. The presidential debate was BORING. I'm not going to get into a tirade of what I think, since we all know which way I lean. (RIGHT! RIGHT! OBAMA GOT PWNED!)
Okay, maybe it's less of a lean, and more of a 'my chair is superglued here'.
Anyway, yesterday was SO uneventful. Matthew was good, and the other kids basically slept ALL DAY. Friday's are beginning to be like that. It's like Ava doesn't sleep good all week and Friday catches up at my house. Ella sleeps all the time anyway. Over three hours of sleep at naptime!
Monday is going to be fun. Claire comes back. EARLY. This will only be her second day away from family. And this time, there will be more than Matthew here. Naptime's going to be interesting. I'm hoping I can get Claire in a routine before Rhys starts next Monday.
Yeah! I'm a glutton for punishment! FIVE KIDS? Am I stupid?
I was so looking forward to this weekend. An entire weekend off. No hospital, no kids. Well, no OTHER kids. But we have been invited to everything under the sun today. COME ON! I told David tomorrow after church, I did not want to leave the house. It was STRICTLY a family day. Cleaning the house, having a nice quiet day at home. Take a nap, whatever we pleased. I have GOT to get this house in order before Monday morning.

It's been awhile. What have I been up to since my last post?
-I went to weekends only at the hospital.
-I pulled Matthew out of daycare and opened my house up as a home daycare. Haha. Whew!
Yeah. That's about it. If my life were any more exciting, I'd have to drink Red Bull. ;)
So the home daycare is working out pretty well. I have to believe it was meant to be, because there are many providers here having trouble filling their spots and I have people coming out of the woodwork. Exactly one week after making the decision I would do this, I had a kid. By the next week, I had two more! Still working on certification. I'm already CPR certified, but I'm taking a pediatric first aid course on October 17. Hopefully by then all my paperwork will be in order.
Two year olds seem to have small attention spans, (who knew? haha), so I worked with them on a project. I can't take credit for it, I stole it off Tracey on the daycare provider's board. I can't wait until Matthew will draw a picture without shredding the paper afterwards!
Ava drew this:

And we turned it into these notecards for her mom!

How cute is that? Totally a great idea.
Watched Baby Mama and the Sex and the City movie. I never watched SATC on HBO, so I didn't know if there was nudity in it or not, but there is in the movie! HELLO side penis! It actually shocked me. My days are filled with children and Clifford the big red dog, so seeing naked bodies threw me off! Both good movies though. Although Baby Mama got more hype then it deserved.
I'm going to try to update more often. I need an outlet! An adult one!!!! ;)
Have any good movie recommendations? I love comedies!

This blog entry is going to jump around
Don't say I didn't warn you.
Okay, my new favorite thing is Pandora. If you go to http://www.pandora.com , you can enter an artist or song, and it will develop a radio station with artists that are similar. It's been a lifesaver during a VERY boring 12 hour shift at work. (Another shift where they're paying to me to do nothing!)
One of the nurses I am working with tonight just got into a sneezing fit. Seriously, at least four full minutes of sneezing. Not continuous, but enough that I would have needed a Depends, because after four sneezes, I've probably pretty well soaked my drawers. And I bet she sneezed around 20 times.
Today I got up and got in the pool. I asked David to cover my back in sunscreen, which he is horrible at. He'll tell me he's done, and I'll have to say, 'No, David. I mean REALLY put it on there thick!' and he'll get mad and tell me he did.
So I come inside after two hours, and my back is red. Not my arms. Not my legs. Not my face. MY BACK. David said, 'Damn, your back is going to be BURNED!' I said, 'Yeah, that's what happens when you tell someone to put sunscreen on you and they do a shitty job of it.'
He gets an 'A' for effort in trying to make up at least 30 different reasons why my back being burned had nothing to do with the lack of sunscreen he applied to it.
I am, quite literally, a redneck right now.
Okay, speaking of redneck, we have some tree stumps in our yard we need removed. Now, we had a guy lined up to grind the stumps down who kept NOT showing up. So I finally got pissed off, because all we're doing is going to plant a flower bed when the stump is gone, so I planted it anyway!

The fence is temporary. It's keeping the dogs out until they realize they'll be chinese food if they go near it. We're getting stone this weekend.
Yeah, Fat Girl went to Lowe's and bought 200 lbs of top soil and planted this in the dark. I think I did a pretty good job!
The previous owners had some crazy tall bushes planted in the landscaping out front, and once David dug them up, we realized there was a plant behind them. I told David I thought it was a lily. Sure enough, it finally gets some sun and I see this:

I LOVE LILIES!
Ooh, admission. I guess I get to do my job after all.

I could fall asleep right now
So yesterday I didn't get off work until 9:45am. I was exhausted. I got home, and was trying to do some stuff before bed and I was so tired I was doing stuff like jerking my arm, so I went to sleep. It was 11am by this point. Although I was tired, I had to lay there and kind of wind down before I fell asleep.
At 2pm, I wake up to the doorbell ringing like crazy, and my phone ringing. I looked out the window and it was my FIL. I'm in a sports bra and drawers, so I do him the favor of grabbing David's bathrobe. This entire time, he's still ringing the doorbell and calling. When I open the door, he says, 'OH! Did I wake you up?' No genius. Then he tells me he just needs me to open the garage door so he can get the tables from Matthew's party.
WTF? WHY COULDN'T YOU CALL DAVID FOR THE CODE TO THE GARAGE?
After that, I locked the door, walked back to the bedroom and thought, 'Let's try this again'. I crawl into bed, cover myself up, and smile, because this has GOT to be the most comfortable place on earth, and I'm convinced that's why Matthew WILL NOT sleep in his own bed, hahaha.
Do you know the doorbell starts ringing again? Why is it people can't ring the doorbell once, they have to keep hitting it until you answer the door. I finally gave up.
I AM SO TIRED RIGHT NOW. I wish I didn't have to work. I'd be taking a nap in the pool, haha!

HELLO ALL WEEZER FANS!
If you haven't downloaded/bought The Red Album, you must do so RIGHT NOW. If you've got WinRar, I'll provide you with a link to download it! I haven't been this excited about an album in a long time. I'm not even a huge Weezer fan, but this is really good stuff. I loved The Green Album, but this one is better! I transferred it to my phone so I could listen to it at work!
I went to work at 7pm last night and clocked out at 9:45am. What's wrong with that picture?
You know what sucks? WORK! Haha. I need to take a napHOLY CRAP THE PHONE SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME!

I'm a slacker
I haven't posted on here since January! Holy cow I'm a loser.
Summer's here, it's finally HOT here, and the pool is open. YAY! Matthew is having a blast in it!

I've got to get on the bandwagon to lose weight. Until I do, there isn't a chance we're going to try and have another kid. It's too risky.
If I have any new readers, welcome!

I haven't blogged in a while. Working two jobs doesn't leave me much energy to cruise or chat, haha.
On top of that, I joined Curves Monday, and I've worked out the past three days. It's definitely a workout! I want to win the weight loss challenge at work dammit!
If I hadn't mentioned what the weight loss challenge was yet, the dietician took $5 from every person that wanted to weigh in. At the end of twelve weeks, the person that loses the most weight, and the person that loses the largest percentage of weight get to 'split the pot'. It's up to almost $800!
So the first week, I lost 6 pounds. I'm anxious to see what the weigh in Monday will say.

And today, I was thankful
Somedays are stressful. Somedays you just want to rip your hair out. Somedays you just want to lock yourself in the bathroom for a few minutes and scream.
I do too. And then I see this face, and it somehow all dissolves.

And it blows my mind how much that face has changed in the past twenty months. He went from a newborn to an infant in the blink of an eye.

We worked on rolling over, sitting up, crawling. We watched The Backyardigans.

Then he turned a year old and was a TODDLER. And everyday, it seems, he's getting bigger. I remember when 'dog' was the ONLY thing he'd say. And now he talks nonstop, and shows us everyday how smart he is. He has the cutest rituals, like hugging Mommy and Daddy several times before bed. He get such a kick out of going potty. He loves kissing his Mimi goodbye.

And I thank God everyday I have this little 'surprise' miracle. I thank God that David and I have what we have both wanted: a family. And while we would love to add on in the future, I won't feel any less complete if we don't/aren't able to. For a lot of people, an unexpected pregnancy is a challenge, a dent in a lifeplan, an unwanted nuisance. I am thankful to have a partner who thinks like I do. We take every so-called challenge head on, and together. We have taken every obstacle we have been given and turned it into something positive. We've become closer in the process.
I love him more today than I ever have. And together, with love we made the most kick ass little boy, and I am so blessed to get to be his mother. Everytime he calls me 'Mommy', my heart swells with so much love.
Now, if only he'd quit growing for a little while!

Jock itch and grocery shopping
Did you know women can get jock itch?
Did you know that if your partner has jock itch, and you do the dirty, he can give you jock itch?
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah. But it's better than herpes, ain't it?
Today I was semi-productive. I moved the twin bed from the spare room to Matthew's room to get it set up for him. After I did that, which required me taking it apart and putting it back together, I had to go to the chiropractor. He shook his head and said, 'Your hips aren't in the right place.'
Thank God for chiropractors.
Then I went grocery shopping. I spent $50 last night at Big Lots. A lot of it was stuff like 'infused vinegars', but a lot of great buys. Today I spent $70 at Walmart, and heck if I know what I bought. Then to Kroger for the ACTUAL grocery shopping. By the time we bought everything we needed, and yes, we needed everything we bought, we spent $227! WHAT THE HELL? I mean, we were out of EVERYTHING, but COME ON. There are only three of us!
We put Matthew's bedding on the bed once I washed it, and he FLIPPED OUT. It's Cars, and he kept running up and down the bed yelling, 'VROOM VROOM!' Hopefully, we'll get him to SLEEP in it soon. One can hope!
Yeah, random. I'm tired. I have to work the next eight days, so I'm going to bed.

Randomness
For those of you that missed it, January 8th was Elvis's birthday, AND the three year anniversary of mine and David's first date. We didn't do anything special. I wasn't feeling too hot, so David rented The Heartbreak Kid and I made Caesar salad's. Movie wasn't bad, but I tend to love about anything with Ben Stiller. :)
For those of you that don't know, I started at Kroger yesterday. It's less than half of what I make at the hospital, and probably twice the work, but David and I are on a mission to pay stuff off. Plus, it's 10% off all Kroger brand items, which ROCKS. And I get paid every week.
I'm very proud of Matthew and how well he's doing with the potty. Today, he came to get me for help, diaperless, mind you! When we went into the bathroom, he'd already had the lid up and his potty seat in there. How cute is that?
The hospital is having a weight loss challenge, and I am going to tear that shit up. There is a monetary incentive, and we all know I have the weight to lose. Wish me luck!
Tomorrow I need to do the wifely stuff. I have GOT to clean this house up and do grocery shopping. FUN! Hiking through the grocery store, loading everything in the cart, unloading it on the conveyor, putting it back in the car, taking it to the car, putting it in the trunk, driving home, and bring it into the house and then putting it away........IT MAKES ME WANT TO RIP MY EYELIDS OFF!
This would have been more exciting, but I'm a bit tired.

My great buy!
As some of you know, we got Mom a kick ass photo printer/digital camera bundle. The photo printer is photo lab quality. AWESOME. I wanted one for us, but they're sold out of that particular bundle, and I saw, this printer on Walmart.com, so I ordered it. I figured for the price (I got it for $19.84), I couldn't really go wrong, and even if they were mediocre pics, so what?
I have to say, that while it's not as good as my mother's, it's definitely worth the price. It's so handy to have around, as I have these frames on my fridge, and this makes it easier to keep updated:

I'm going to use it to make Matthew's birthday invitations this year as well!

Hey Cool Kids!
My best friend LeAnn, whom all of you have heard me talk about, has moved on over to Blogger! Please welcome her, and if you want to cruise her blog, she's the Eat Me Beat Me Lady.
TALK HARD!
TALK HARD!
We won the RSV lottery again!
Thankfully, our daycare has starting giving credit if your child misses an entire week. So next payday, we only pay for a week, instead of two. Good news in the midst of chaos!
Matthew is OBSESSED with taking a bath. He started in on me this morning, and I kept saying no. Not because I like my child being filthy and smelling like an old sock, mind you, but because he's had so many vapor baths in the past 48 hours I'm afraid his skin is drying out. Not only does he not give a shit, he's pointing at the tub screaming, 'BATH! BATH! BATH!' incessantly. Finally I scream back at him, 'ALRIGHT!' and start running water. What? It's not like he was asking for crack cocaine.
He doesn't understand the concept that sleeping will help him feel better. It will also allow me some time to myself to drink coffee and attempt sanity. And maybe give him a neb treatment. (Which makes him giggle and scream, 'It's my medicine!') Hell, I'd like to take a nap too! Child, quick waking me up at 7:30 screaming for a cereal bar!
On top of the RSV, he had an ear infection which means fever. Not just ANY fever, but 'Matthew fever'. 'Matthew fever' is any fever > 104, but usually >105.
